In Memory and Honor of An East Texas BBQ Staple

I'm sure everyone knows that BBQ here in East Texas is a big deal! We love it for holidays, weekends and just anytime we get a craving. And in Longview, TX, Bodacious BBQ has a reputation for being a sought after eatery so much so that it has made it's mark on the map for patrons traveling from cities far and near just to try for the first time or get their BBQ fix again. Just last year of 2017, in the Texas Monthly magazine article entitled "The Golden Age of BBQ" Bodacious was ranked #4 on the top 10 list of best BBQ in the state of Texas! How awesome is this for a small town family owned restaurant! If you ever travel to the East Texas area, you have got to make it a point to stop in and taste, whether you sit down and enjoy the atmosphere or just grab and go. You won't be disappointed.
I remember seeing Roland at the Mobberly Ave. location a lot before he took ill. Always serving up customers with a friendly atmosphere which just made the food that much more appetizing. He will be Bodaciously missed and we are grateful that his son-in-law has taken over the business to continue the great menu and family legacy.
"Rest in Eternal Peace, Roland".

Christmas Tree Weed

This was taken about 2 or 3 months ago and I have no idea what type of plant it is. I thought it was interesting because of its resemblance to clusters of small yellow christmas trees. This is a night picture of it, that really makes it stand out. During the day the color is not as vibrant.

All Eyes on this East Texan...Lady Bird Johnson

First Lady Johnson was the wife of President Lyndon B. Johnson, who was president of the United States from 1963 to 1969. Claudia Alta "Lady Bird" Taylor (Johnson) was born December 22 in Karnack, Texas, a small town in Harrison County near the Louisiana border, but graduated from Marshall Senior High School. She had a love for beautifying the nation so she started a project called Society for a More Beautiful National Capital that allowed residents and tourists to plant millions of flowers because she believed that "where flowers bloom," so does hope.

The Little Pond

A little pond nestled within a neighborhood.
If you look close at the middle of the photo,
you can see how the rich fall colors seem to
form an illusion of an entrance into the
tree and bush clusters.

On Lake Lamond

On Lake Lamond just before sunset...this reflective view sets the mood for an early fall morning. It overlooks the quiet waters and thick pine trees that surrounds LEDCO, known for it's oil and field equipment services.

Limitless Skies

2007
Even our prayers reach much farther than the skies.
My husband and I love photography. We take photos of the East Texas area when time permits.
So I decided to share them. He takes the pictures and I somtimes enhance them with digital effects. But this one I left as is because it speaks for itself.
